About Us
Canada Cookie Ltd. is a local company owned and operated by Kelowna resident, Jane Metzger. Her objective was to introduce a delicious, all-natural,all-Canadian shortbread cookie to support Canada’s sovereignty and our wheat and dairy farmers as ‘Canada bites back’ against U.S. tariffs.
Jane launched Canada Cookie Ltd. in the summer of 2025, to feature her signature Canookie, a shortbread maple leaf topped with maple-flavoured white chocolate and walnuts.
All the ingredients she uses are produced in Canada, including walnuts from the Gellatly Nut Farm in West Kelowna. She recently participated in their annual Harvest Nut Festival, offering a sampling of her cookies made with their own hand-picked walnuts.
Without any chemical additives or preservatives, Jane only uses wholesome ingredients that are sourced, grown or made in Canada.
With three decades of professional baking experience, and having owned a Bakery and Tea Room for four years prior to the pandemic, the Canookie has been her best seller and signature cookie for many years. She also offers a melt-in-your-mouth, nut-free Plain shortbread just in time for the holiday season.
Jane re-introduced the Canookie last May in support of Canadian sovereignty, and to help our wheat and dairy farmers who struggle with U.S. tariffs, using only Canada-grown-or-made, wholesome ingredients. Marketing her Canookies exclusively in Canada, she has hopes of growing her business to extend sales province and nationwide.

Jane currently supplies grab-and-go Canookie 3-paks at various retail outlets around town, and as a member of her strata’s FireSmart committee, she regularly provides complimentary boxes of Canookies to our local fire departments to show community appreciation.
